Accessible Employment Statement (AODA) V.1

Kingsville Stamping is committed to complying with the Ontario Human Right Code, AODA and ISAR (Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation)

Accessibility plans (ISAR – O.Reg. 191/11; Integrated Accessibility Standards)

  1. (1) The Government of Ontario, Legislative Assembly, designated public sector organizations and large organizations shall,

(a) establish, implement, maintain and document a multi-year accessibility plan, which outlines the organization’s strategy to prevent and remove barriers and meet its requirements under this Regulation;

(b) post the accessibility plan on their website, if any, and provide the plan in an accessible format upon request; and

(c) review and update the accessibility plan at least once every five years.  O. Reg. 191/11, s. 4 (1).

(2) The Government of Ontario, Legislative Assembly and designated public sector organizations shall establish, review and update their accessibility plans in consultation with persons with disabilities and if they have established an accessibility advisory committee, they shall consult with the committee.  O. Reg. 191/11, s. 4 (2).

Customer Service

Kingsville Stamping Limited is provided in an accessible format in a timely manner that takes into account the individual’s disability at no additional cost when necessary.

Kingsville Stamping Limited ever requires a person with a disability to be accompanied by a support person when on the premises, the person was consulted to determine whether a support person is necessary to protect their health and safety and the safety of others.

Employment

Kingsville Stamping Limited employs any persons with disabilities, the company provides individualized workplace emergency response information where the disability is such that this information is necessary and where the company is aware of the need for accommodation due to the employee’s disability.

The individualized workplace emergency response information is reviewed when the employee moves to a different location in the workplace, when the employee’s overall accommodation needs or plans are reviewed, and when the company reviews its general emergency policies.

If an employee with individualized workplace emergency response information requires assistance during emergencies, then the company, with the employees’ consent, provides the emergency response information to the employees who are designated to assist during emergencies. This information is provided as soon as possible after the company becomes aware of the need for accommodation due to the employee’s disability.

Design of Public Spaces

Kingsville Stamping Limited has constructed or redeveloped outdoor public eating areas, outdoor play spaces, off-street parking, service counters, fixed queueing guides, or waiting areas after January 1, 2017, the areas meet the general requirements as outlined in the Design of Public Spaces Standards.

Kingsville Stamping Limited’s multi-year accessibility plan includes procedures for preventive and emergency maintenance of the accessible elements in public spaces, and for dealing with temporary disruptions when accessible elements are not working.

AODA

Kingsville Stamping Limited established an accessibility advisory committee as described in the AODA.

The majority of members on the committee are persons with disabilities.

The committee has provided advice to council about site plans and drawings, as well as advice on the requirements and implementation of accessibility standards
