That’s why I was so excited to see Scorpion Watch Company, really a pair of guys out in Denver, were creating a watch brand. This is sort of like a pair of roommates creating a microbrew beer or building a bar together — it’s fun, it’s cool, and it’s potentially lucrative. So how does the Reef Diver fare? Extremely well, I’m pleased to report. What the guys at Scorpion did was outsource the manufacture of their watches to a Swiss company and used an automatic ETA 2824 date movement. Fair enough.

So, our earlier post on the Schurhen Gentleman generated a lot of interest. ?I’ve spoken with them, and I’ve got some more pictures for you, as well as some additional pricing details. So, first up, the pricing:The Gentleman starts at ?€675,
www.hotwatchsale.co.uk, ?due to the pricing of Swiss movements usedA lot of the?customization?can be done at this starting priceFor example, you can change out the hands, bezel, and / or crownAdding something like a custom (laser) engraved case backs would add about €40Custom dial are also possible (they’ve done quite a few), but these are expensive for one-offs. ?To do something like adding a Family crest in one color adds about €200So, as you can see, you’ve got a good deal of flexibility in making this watch your own.

?This is powered by a Seiko automatic movement (I can’t determine the specific caliber), and has a hardened mineral crystal up front,
www.toreplicawatches.co.uk, mineral crystal display back, and 100m water resistance rating.Astute readers will have noted the second crown on the 43mm stainless steel case. ?This is controlling the inner bezel, which interestingly is giving you a perpetual calendar of sorts. ?If you look closely at the chapter ring, you’ll see that the days of the month (1-31) are aligned with the days of the week (Sun-Sat).

In terms of styling, this is what originally grabbed my eye. The Ritmo Mundo Corinthian World Time is part of their Vintage collection,
www.refinedwatch.com, which these days is code for “looks old school”. Here, we have a very rounded case that calls to mind the shape of a pocket watch, with lugs coming off perpendicularly to the top and bottom of the case.

?Sure,
www.waxwatches.co.uk, you can’t see the green when you wear it, but it’s nice to know it’s there. ?This is also evident in the wallet that the watch ships in. ?Black leather on the outside, and a green velvety surface inside to protect the watch.Last, but not least, we’ve got the signed screw-down crown, which is set at the corner of the case,
